Happy Birthday Cole! Part Two

On Saturday, we celebrated Cole's birthday with family! My parents came in from Austin, my brother and SIL from Houston, and Tom's family all from Dallas.  Cole was in heaven with all his favorite people in one place.  We let him play with them for a bit, then went out eat at the delicious Aldaco's, and let the official festivities begin after nap time.

The balloons were the cheapest entertainment ever.  Cole and Grant were in heaven. The construction site cake was a last minute decision and team effort between me and Cole's aunts.  The best part was that Cole LOVED it and didn't get overwhelmed from the attention, unlike his first birthday. Jill made the amazing buttercream icing, and Jean helped with the detailed yellow icing. And G-Pegs brought the trucks! It was super easy and amazingly tasty. Cole loved his gifts too, although I know he was confused on moving on right away to open the next thing.  We've had a fun few days after to really sit and enjoy each one.

We are so thankful for everyone traveling to us!! It was so great to have everyone in our home and I know Cole loved every minute.

Happy Birthday Cole! Part One

Back in June, Tom and I decided we would keep Cole's birthday celebration for family only again.  We don't have any family that lives in San Antonio, so giving them quality time as they traveled to us was an easy decision.

HOWEVER... when I mentioned that to my life group gals last week, they quickly came up with the idea to get together during the week to celebrate our little man.  We always get together anyway, so add a few cupcakes and some sticky watermelon, and we had a PARTY! These are Cole's buddies, so it was such a gift to celebrate with them and their mamas. There were no decorations, no preparations...just a pool and some box cupcakes.

My friend Annie took the amazing pictures.  My iphone took the less amazing pictures.  I'm so thankful she captured these sweet moments.

The First Trimester...round 2

I am well out of the first trimester, but am I going to try oh so hard to be as consistent with this baby and pregnancy as I was with Cole!!
Things seem to be going the exact same as they did with my first pregnancy.  I was nauseous mostly during weeks 6-8, exhausted early in the pregnancy, no super weird cravings...well maybe french fries. But that's not weird.  I think I just say "YES" a little easier than in a non-pregnant circumstance.

It's stinkin' hot here, but still trying to walk or do workout videos. Shawn T's T25 is my current favorite.  I also consider painting a workout, which I seem to be doing way more than I should around here...

Cole is super sweet saying, "Mommy, Daddy, Cole, Baby" all the time, even in his crib before he falls asleep. He seems overly confident that the baby is a "BOY!!!!" He loves to pat my belly and give it kisses, and he has finally stopped touching other peoples' bellies and saying "baby!" ... haha!!

8 weeks and 12 weeks!

7 and 9 weeks pregnant

11 and 13 weeks pregnant

TOMORROW WE FIND OUT THE GENDER!!! EEEEEKK!!!! So excited!

Couples' Retreat: Port Aransas

This past weekend we were able to sneak away from parenting for a long weekend and meet up with our friends in Port Aransas.  We had the best time...so many laughs, late nights, cheetoes and oreos... I am so thankful we were able to all get away! This was our 5th beach trip with the Sanders, and we were super excited that newlyweds Chris and Emily could join us this year!

Rachel caught this umbrella in midair as the wind swept it away. So impressive.
Love love love these friends!
Happy almost 5 year anniversary to us!

I ate every bite of this.
The guys caught lots of fish this weekend! The girls caught none.
Pardon the bare baby belly.  Pregnancy + wet bathing suits = awful itchy rashes. My skin was so happy!!
Tom.  HAHAHA!!

Florida Beach Trip

This year, the Heinemann family packed up and went to Ft. Walton Beach in Florida for a long weekend. We flew to Dallas and met up with Grant and family, and then took a delayed and late night flight to Florida.

We didn't land until 11 pm...Cole of course stayed up the whole time!!! He finally went to bed at midnight when we got to the condo. Thankfully, he was a happy clam the next day. :)

The storm that delayed all the flights the day before left the ocean super yucky... pea soup-ish.  But we swam anyway. The guys all had pocket-fulls of seaweed slush every time they got out of the water.

The sand was gorgeous. Cole wasn't a huge fan of touching the sand,
but was content playing once he had a seat or squat.

The pool was a huge hit.

The condo was super nice and the boys played like champs. They never slowed down.

The water improved slightly each day. Here is my 15 week belly bump...hehe!

These boys LOVE their Doc and GPegs.  They are so blessed!!!

While Cole didn't fall asleep on a midnight flight, he did during the flight home at 1pm..haha!!! And stayed asleep through baggage claim.  Crazy kid.
